I am a scholar of law and sociology.  I am currently Professor of Law at Boston University School of Law and fellow in the Center for Cultural Sociology at Yale University.  

My recent scholarship examines Supreme Court legitimacy, accusations of “genocide”, the prosecutions of President Trump, U.S. criminal justice abroad (including in the Russia-Ukraine War), theories of criminal justice reformism and abolitionism, police use of force, and cancel culture.
